This Privacy Policy explains how FounderPing ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, dashboard, and feedback widget service (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

This policy covers founders and site owners who sign up for FounderPing, as well as visitors to our website. It also describes how we handle information submitted through the feedback widget that founders embed on their own sites.

If you are a visitor to a third-party website that uses our widget, the site owner may also have their own privacy practices. They are responsible for informing you how feedback collected on their site is used.

Account and billing information. When you create a project or upgrade to Pro, we collect your email address and, if applicable, subscription and payment details processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

Messages and conversations. We store feedback messages, replies, and related conversation data so founders can receive email notifications, respond from their inbox, and—on Pro plans—view message history in the dashboard.

Widget visitor information. End users of the widget are anonymous by default. We assign a browser identifier stored in local storage so conversations can continue across visits. If a visitor chooses to share an email address, we store it with the conversation. When a message is sent, we may also collect technical context such as page URL, referrer, browser type, operating system, screen size, language, timezone, and similar diagnostic metadata to help founders understand feedback in context.

Website and service usage. Like most web services, we may collect standard log data such as IP address, request timestamps, and browser type when you visit our site or use authenticated areas of the Service.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Deliver messages and email notifications to founders
• Process subscriptions and billing through Stripe
• Authenticate dashboard access via secure magic links
• Improve reliability, security, and product performance
• Respond to support requests and legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, including:

• Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
• MongoDB Atlas for database storage
• Stripe for payment processing
• Email providers such as Resend or Postmark for outbound and inbound email delivery

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

When a founder receives feedback through the widget, message content and related metadata are delivered to that founder by email and, on Pro plans, made available in their dashboard.

We retain account, project, and conversation data for as long as your account or project is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us.

Our website and dashboard may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, and basic functionality. The embedded widget uses local storage in the visitor's browser to remember an anonymous customer identifier and conversation state. You can clear this data through your browser settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information. To make a request, contact us using the email address at the bottom of this page. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Pro subscribers can manage billing through the Stripe customer portal available from the dashboard.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

If you access the Service from outside the country where we operate, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws than your own.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
